Revlon lipstick-Cherries in the snow(440)

So now I am the proud owner of a lipstick shade which has been in the market since the 1950's. 
The shade number is 440 and it is a creme based lipstick and comes in a classic black and gold packaging.

As you can see from the pic above, the lipstick bullet can be seen from the top because of the transparent top part of the cap. But then one cannot get a good view of the lipstick shade through the cap; just a peek. It is not a bulky packaging and the cylindrical shape ensures travel friendliness :)


The lipstick is very creamy and easily glides on the lips. The colour is an awesome raspberry shade or majenta with blue undertones. It is really really pigmented and can brighten up the face. Since its a bold shade, I prefer to keep the face and eye makeup minimal when using this lipstick.

It suits all skin tones. The lipstick lasts on the lips for a good 4 hours (using a lip liner can add to the longevity of the lipstick on the lips). The creaminess factor decreases by time and it turns into more of a matte finish. There is no need to apply a lip balm before using the lipstick or during the wearing time. 

It does leave a tint on the lips at the end of the day. The above pic is a testimony to that.

An amazing shade which can give a pop of colour to your face and a must have in your vanity box, I say.

Bourjois rouge edition velvet lipstick No. 12

I picked up this liquid lipstick during the recent sale in Boots. I have seen a lot of pics and reviews about the liquid lipsticks from Bourjois and I wanted to try one for a long time. They have a lot of shades to choose from and I ended up buying the No. 12 shade called beau brun. Now, the company promises light texture, extreme comfort and 24hour hold. It is packaged in a transparent tube and the cap color matches the lipstick shade (which is a big plus for me; you have an idea what the shade is before swatching rather than open up every tube to find out the color). That is how it looks once you open it. There is a 'chemical' smell which is annoying but is gone in a few seconds.The brush has a slant at the top and this makes the application of the lipstick a lot easier. With this brush, you can actually apply the lipstick tracing the lines of your lips without any bleeding and even the corners of your lips is easily reachable. The above pic

The INGLOT event

INGLOT had organised an event exclusively for their social media fans to celebrate 10 years of beauty. It was an invite to their store in Avenues Mall to experience their latest collections and makeup applications on Wednesday August 10, 2016. The invite was only to the first 200 who RSVPd to an email ID they had posted on Fb. I have always passed by their store and admired the colorful display of nail polishes and eye shadows but never really ventured to walk in and try the products.  Inglot store in Avenues We were received with a welcome drink and donuts :). I had fun walking around and swatching and trying again the lip shades, eye shadows and foundation. The crowd was huge. Hmm..who would want to miss to be a part of such an event.
