Milk Peda Recipe

Milk Peda
I saw my friends Instagram post on Diwali and then realisation dawned that pedas can be made at home too :). A search on the internet and stumbled upon this easy recipe from Sharmispassions.
She has very clearly written down the step by step instructions and also pics to guide the cooking process. My pedas were a tiny bit sticky but tasted good...as good as store bought ones. Ah well, it was the first time for me. This is definitely a keeper recipe.

Ingredients:
1. Milk Powder - 2 cups
2. Condensed Milk - 400 gm tin
3. Cardamom (crushed) - 5 pieces
4. Ghee - 3 tsp + enough while rolling out the pedas
5. Milk - 2 tbsp [warm enough to soak 4 strands of saffron]

Method:
In  a deep pan, mix the milk powder, milk and the condensed milk. There should not be any lumps.
Switch on the flame [lowest flame possible] and start stirring. Never ever stop stirring. It will take a while before the whole gooey stuff starts to leave the sides of the pan and comes together and form a lump. Add the ghee and cardamom powder at this stage. Stir well until all is incorporated and transfer the gooey mass to another vessel.  Once it cools down a bit, start making the pedas. You can grease your hands so that it doesn't stick. Yummy home made pedas are ready.
