The Body Shop coconut oil hair shine

This was one of those impulse buy product.

I am always on the look out for cures to tame my frizzy hair. Sigh..It has a mind of it's own. Even after a generous application of conditioner post shampooing, it still frizzes out. grrrr.

Ok...ahem...back to my post.
TBS does have a Rainforest range of coconut oil but it isn't like 100% coconut oil.

I spotted this while browsing the TBS. It caught my immediate attention because of two things printed on the tub:
a) coconut oil
b) ALL HAIR TYPES

Coconut oil is the best; whether it is for hair, body or for cooking.

Well, it is not entirely 100% coconut oil but has beeswax and other stuff added to it.

Price: 2.5KD

The packaging is a small round tin tub - similar to a shoe polish tub.Its compact and travel friendly. The product has to be used up within 12 months of opening. It claims to smooth, add shine, condition and repair hair. The product is to be used on dry hair.

The product is pale yellow in  color with a faint pleasant smell. It is not a coconutty smell but a sweet fragrance which I couldn't  put my nose on. It is very thick like a balm and it easily melts when you rub it in between the palms of your hands. The product is filled up to the brim of the tub and is solid. Since in Kuwait, it sits in air conditioned atmosphere always, it is remaining solid. I am wondering how the product will fair in the humid climate in India.

You have to swirl your fingers in the tub to get enough product on your fingers, warm it up and it melts and then apply to your hair. Your hair also will smell nice the entire day.

I have been using this for a month and I have to say that it does control the flyaways and frizz and imparts a shine to the hair and makes it more manageable. But you need to know the right amount of product to use. Otherwise it will weigh down your hair and you might end up as a oily mess.

I read that this can also be used post hair wash; just apply a generous amount (to be read as - get all greasy and slicky) on the hair an hour before shampooing.

A good product for the price.
